U.S.-Canada Relations: Strengthening Ties Across Cascadia
At Cascadia Foreign Policy, we believe the Pacific Northwest thrives when it remains open, collaborative, and closely connected to our northern neighbors. Our U.S.-Canada Relations initiative champions policy and research that reflect our region’s values: openness, innovation, respect for human rights, and a deep appreciation for the natural environment we share.

Our Priorities
Arbitrary detention and restrictive border policies harm communities, families, and economies on both sides. We advance policies that uphold dignity, human rights, and smooth, secure border crossings.
We provide in-depth analysis and targeted research to support cross-border economic integration, strengthen local industries, and ensure that trade policies benefit our region.
We proudly partner with Pacific Northwest industry groups and universities to drive cross-border collaboration in technology, transportation, education, and sustainability. By bridging gaps left by institutions like the Wilson Center’s Canada Institute, we give greater visibility and policy relevance to regional expertise.
