Troy DeFrank is an accomplished economic development strategist with over 15 years of experience advancing foreign direct investment and cross-border growth initiatives across the Pacific Northwest. Currently serving as an Investment Advisor with Invest Alberta and the Managing Partner at G3 Partners, a boutique international economic development advisory, Troy has played a pivotal role in strengthening trade and investment ties between the U.S., Canadia, and beyond. His previous roles with Global Affairs Canada, Trade & Invest British Columbia, and the Washington State Department of Commerce reflect a long-standing commitment to positioning the Pacific Northwest as a globally connected innovation hub.
A recognized leader in regional economic diplomacy, Troy has built a career on cultivating collaborative relationships between public agencies, industry groups, and global investors. He specializes in bridging jurisdictions through joint programming, strategic partnerships, and business matchmaking — particularly within the Cascadia Corridor. Troy holds a Master’s degree in International Studies from the University of Washington and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Japanese from the University of Notre Dame.
